Here's another bizarre and diverse episode of the Move Swap Minisode series of The Picture Show. This time Mike takes a look at Eric Stanze's Scrapbook; a grindingly nasty serial killer film, cut by 16 minutes in the UK. I, on the other hand, watched an altogether artier film about death: Jean Cocteau's Orphee.

Movie Swap Minisode 4: Alice in Wonderland: An X Rated Musical Fantasy / Werckmeister Harmonies
In this even stranger than usual episode of the Movie Swap miniseries, Sam and Mike take a look at two incredibly contrasting films.
First, Mike watches Bud Townsend's 1976 musical porno adaptation of Alice in Wonderland, featuring Kristine DeBell.
Then, Sam looks at austere Hungarian auteuer Bela Tarr's acclaimed slow cinema horror Werckmeister Harmonies.
It's just another day at Picture Show HQ.

Movie Swap Minisode 3: Mum and Dad / The French Connection
There's another eclectic pair of films up for discussion in this, the third of The Picture Show's Movie Swap specials.
Mike - on my recommendation - takes a look at Mike Leigh with torture scenes Brit shocker Mum and Dad.
Mike returns the favour by making sure that I - FINALLY - get around to my first viewing of 70's cop movie classic The French Connection.

Movie Swap Minisode 1: The Witch Who Came From the Sea / Once Upon a Time in the West
In this new series Mike and I are continuing where we left off with the recent movie swap specials. Over the next 12 weeks we'll be trading films and discussing them in regular, slightly shorter, special episodes of The Picture Show.
In the series Mike will be assigning me a dozen films generally regarded as classics, while I, on the other hand, will be making Mike watch a lot of trash and exploitation cinema, so every episode will have a massive contrast between the films up for discussion.
In this first episode, Mike watches the DPP listed The Witch Who Came From the Sea, and I'm looking at Sergio Leone's Once Upon a Time in the West. You can listen to the show in the player below, or download it HERE.

Populaire / Byzantium / Secret Weapons List Vol. 3
This week, I'm joined by returning guest and vampire expert Mairead Roche to review Populaire and Byzantium and to discuss more of Hollywood's 'secret weapons' - those actors who do a lot of great work, but still aren't all that well known.
